This map shows the level of income inequality among countries, measured by the Gini coefficient and compiled by the CIA World Factbook. The lower the number, the more egalitarian the society (at least socioeconomically speaking). Note that the Gini coefficient isn’t without its limitations and controversies, though it thus far remains the most popular method of its kind.
