Is Gangnam Style Popular Because It Appeals to Asian Stereotypes?
Granted, the video is fun and amusing in its own right, too. But it just happens to comport with the mainstream American view of Asian males as unsexual, silly, and humorous.
Asian males are typically portrayed in popular culture as either martial artists or, conversely, comedic relief.Asian women fare little better, often being sexualized in one form or another.
But what do you think? Do you agree with the article? Discuss.

I wouldn’t label Psy in Gangnam Style as “unsexual.” Currently pop music is favoring silly male roes. See: LMFAO
